Article Submission
Articles submitted to The New Woodend Star are submitted to the Editor for review. The Editor reserves the right to edit any submissions before publishing for length or clarity. Articles submitted after the 15th of each month will not make it into the next edition. The 15th is the cut-off date for submissions.
Online (email) Submission: Email submissions to Alexia Downie at sales@collieroffice.com.au.
We can accept text in the body of the email, or Word (.doc, .docx), text (.txt) and rich text formats (.rtf) attachments for text submissions. You will receive an email within 48 hours notifying you that we have received your article.
The following guidelines are also important in laying out your document.
Do not embed photographs inside documents for submission.
Send the seperate photo file (.JPG, .GIF, .RAW) to us individually if photos are to be included.
Check your spelling and punctuation. Incorrect grammar will be corrected.
Do not write in all CAPS.
Do not use multiple exclamation marks or question marks.
Press enter once in between paragraphs.
While it may look more presentable on your screen, it complicates editing.
Include your name and a contact phone number at the end of the submission.
If you would like to remain anonymous, include your information and request anonymity, as we may need to contact you to clarify information contained in your article.
Written Submissions: Place the information in the strategically placed drop-boxes around Woodend. These boxes, also containing copies of the New Woodend Star, are located at:
Ian Marks Liquor Store
Collier Office & Business Assistance
The Bank at 75 High Street, inside the Westpac Branch and
Woodend Newsagency
Written articles require typing, formatting, further proofing, and potentially take longer to be published. Please allow additional time before the cut-off date.
