Advertising Submission

Advertising submitted after the 15th of each month will not make it into the next edition.
The 15th is the cut-off date for submissions. You may still be billed if you have booked space.

The Editor will also hold your ad in storage for reprinting and editing purposes. You should notify the editor if you do not want your advertising material reprinted or stored.

Press Ready Advertising

Press Ready Ads are ads that require no layout or editing.  They must meet our requirements as follows:

The document must be exactly the right size for your ad.
Business card:           90 mm wide x 55 mm tall
Quarter page portrait:  90 mm wide x 134 mm tall
Half page portrait:       90 mm wide x 277 mm tall
Half page landscape:  190 mm wide x 134 mm tall
Full page:                  190 mm wide x 277 mm tall
Attempt to submit a press ready PDF file.   Most modern programs, including Office 2007 or above, or any professional
desktop publishing software allows you to save a PDF. Your ad will look exactly like the PDF.
Try: Click FILE > SAVE AS > In the TYPE box (underneath filename), try to select .PDF.
Try: Click FILE > EXPORT > PDF
Try: Clicking the Office Button instead of FILE in Office 2007.
If you cannot submit a pdf, a .JPG, .GIF, Word Document, Publisher Document, .EPS or .TIFF may be acceptable.
Fonts and photos need to be embedded correctly.
If you are submitting a Word (.DOC, .DOCX) or Publisher file (.PUB) include photos and logos separately as well.
All files submitted must be at least 300 dpi.  You may need to resize your 300dpi photo for it to be small enough to email.
You may need to save fonts as outlines for the ad to render correctly.

Once you are satisfied your document meets the requirements, you can submit it to our editor:
Alexia Downie at sales@collieroffice.com.au before the 15th of the month.

If your ad does not meet our requirements, we will either:
Alter the advertising in-house free of charge.
Reject the advertising, but allow 1 day for resubmission.
Provide a quote for the reformatting of the advertising, allowing 1 day for a response.

Failure to respond satisfactorily with the time period after submitting non-compliant artwork may result in a substandard print, the printing of a previous ad or no print at all. The New Woodend Star takes not responsibility for ensuring you resubmit advertising.
